Zohark is Here to Help You Succeed

Monday, May 5th, 2008

I know that this sound like self-promotion and I suppose it is a bit, BUT the real purpose of this blog post is to get your reactions.  I just read something in my feed reader that really hit home for me, “get people to rely on your platform for their own success.”

That is what Zohark is all about.  We want you to succeed, simple as that.  That is why we built Zohark and why we continue to improve it.  We want our developers to succeed by running high quality ads with strong bid prices and become wealthy.  We want our advertisers to get high quality prospects and convert them into lifelong customers from our great network of applications.

Whenever we interact with any of our partners, we always ask the question, “what can we as a company do to make you more successful?”  If you have the time, please post a comment on what Zohark can do to help you succeed.  Those of you that have worked with us in the past know that this question is genuine and we will listen.

Here’s to you success!

More Than One Way to Advertise on Facebook

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

I just returned from a conference in Toronto yesterday and I’ve had a day to think about what I saw, heard, and learned.

The most remarkable thing that I am taking away form the conference is that MOST of the people there think that facebook is a great place to be from an advertiser’s point of view.  The remarkable thing is that MOST people didn’t know that facebook itself wasn’t the only way to get your message out.

Just about everyone I spoke to knew that there were applications running on facebook but few made the connection to the marketing potential.  I got lots of surprised reactions when I told them that I can get them and their clients on facebook for as little as $0.10 per click.

If you have a product or service that you think will play well to a younger, more tech-savvy audience, you owe it to yourself to try out advertising in the apps on facebook.

As always, I am here to help and am excited to do so… just get in touch!

Nearly 20,000 Apps on Facebook

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

WOW!  Developers on facebook have certainly been busy.  There are now nearly 20,000 applications running on the facebook platform with more being added daily.

Many of those new applications choose to advertise and monetize with Zohark.  As these applications gain users and canvas page views, Zohark delivers great ads.  Unfortunately, this morning we were overloaded and went down for a couple of hours.  This is an unfortunate growing pain and was fixed very quickly.

I would like to apologize to our developers that had no ads running for a couple of hours and to our advertisers that didn’t get any new customers form us for the same time period.

The great news is that all of the issues have been identified and repaired.  If anyone is having any problems or has any questions, please feel free to call me at 800-975-1537, extension 703.

The Zohark team appreciates all of our partners and we try very hard to minimize our downtime.  To-date, we have only had a couple of minor outages and feel that the upgrades we have made will keep us stable for a long, long time.

Zohark offers facebook user ID information for every click

Monday, March 10th, 2008

Developers have had great success advertising their facebook applications on the Zohark ad network (http://apps.facebook.com/zohark_ads).  Zohark’s development is due, in large part, to developer and advertiser feedback.  Most recently, developers asked for tracking information from every click on the Zohark network so that they could measure conversions.

Thanks for the suggestions; here’s what we have come up with:

On the advertiser control panel of Zohark Ads (http://apps.facebook.com/zohark_ads), select “website” as the advertisement type.

In the click url, point the users to: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=YOURAPPID&username={fb_user}
Please substitute YOURAPPID with your application ID

Or

http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?api_key=YOURAPIKEY&username={fb_user}
Please substitute YOURAPIKEY with the API key of your application.

Now every click will come back with the “username” variable populated with the facebook user ID of the person that clicked on the ad.  Developers will then be able to compare that variable with their installs to track conversions.

Keep those suggestions coming.  Zohark will continue to listen to you and together, we will continue to be the fastest growing ad network on facebook and beyond.

120,000,000 Ad Impressions From Zohark on Facebook in March

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Zohark, the social advertising network, is doubling its page views every month.

For the month of March, Zohark will deliver over 120,000,000 ad impressions across our network of facebook applications.

The publishers that use Zohark to monetize their facebook applications have been enjoying our fast ad load speeds and reliable weekly payments.

The advertisers that advertise on Zohark are getting quality prospects that they are converting into sales.  In addition, the ads that are not clicked are free impressions for the advertisers and a great boost to their branding initiatives.

At this rate, Zohark will be delivering tens of millions of impressions per day in a couple of months, and that’s just on facebook.  Zohark is in development for MySpace, Bebo and other platforms.

Stay tuned - more great things are on the way from Zohark.

Zohark’s Growth Deserves an Upgrade

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Exciting times are upon us at Zohark, the social advertising network.

I once read that if a web company doesn’t have scaling issues, it isn’t growing fast enough.  Well, this weekend we proved that our growth is “fast enough.”  We had a few delays in serving our ads.

The good news is that Zohark was created by veterans of the Pay Per Click industry and we were ready.  Some tweaks were made this morning and we returned to our fast, reliable selves.

Tomorrow, Zohark will be upgraded further and our ads will load even faster.  Personally, I am really excited because of comments like this:

Of all the ad networks I’ve used I like Zohark the best.  I just switched the ads back on and they are showing quickly again.

Developers and their feedback are one of the driving forces of Zohark.  As we continue to grow, I look forward to more and more interactions with developers and advertisers to make Zohark even better.

Zohark Social Advertising News

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Zohark, the social advertising network, is seeing amazing growth on facebook and getting great feedback.

The application on facebook (http://apps.facebook.com/zohark_ads) is the fastest growing ad application in all of facebook.  I can attribute this growth to the perfect 5 star rating and happy developers.  Here is the most recent example:

BEST.ADS.EVER

1.) Fastest loading.
2.) Most customizable.
3.) Never show secret CPM ads like other companies.
4.) Superior support system.
5.) Geo-taregeted ads.
6.) My friends experience - THEY PAY! (You won’t get cubed) :)

In short, Zohark just fixed all problems anybody was having with any ad company.

I love this!

I guess this is what happens when a group of PPC veterans gets together and creates an ad network on facebook.  We promise to keep up the good work and look forward to exceeding everyone’s expectation.

Who Are Your Ads For?

Friday, December 21st, 2007

I spend a great deal of my time helping advertisers create ads for their campaigns on Zohark, the social advertising network. I try to help them target the people that are on the network (over 25,000,000 facebook users and growing).

In my constant search for more knowledge, I read a great post by Seth Godin, marketing guru extraordinaire, titled, “Your ads are not for you.” Here’s the post:

Here’s the puzzling math of advertising, offline and on:

  • Everybody doesn’t read, remember or click on your ads.
  • Nobody isn’t the right answer either.

In other words, you don’t get 100% attention when you buy an ad. In fact, you don’t get 50% attention or even 1%. If you’re very very good and very lucky, it might be .1% but it’s more likely to be one in 10,000. Which is exactly the right number, it turns out, to make advertising work. Any lower and you couldn’t afford it, any higher and everyone would need a warehouse, not a house, to store all the stuff they bought.

This is no accident, of course. We look at ads when we need to. Then we stop.

The real question is this: who’s likely to look at your ads? Because that’s who you’re advertising to.

This is especially important online, because an unclicked text ad is truly invisible, with very little subliminal value. One surprising view is that the typical clicker is female, lower-than-typical income, interested in sweepstakes and coupons. Not that surprising, actually, since if your ‘need’ is for that sort of content, you’re going to click often, and forever. People who click on ads for class action lawyers or kitchen renovation stop doing so once their project is complete. So they’re outnumbered.

Anyway, stop advertising to yourself. You’re already sold. You’re not the target market.

“You’re not the target market!” Wise advice for sure. I often find myself wondering if I would click on a particular ad. If the answer is no, it’s likely that I am not the target.

The one thing to take away from Seth’s advice is to figure out who your customers are, think like them, and then appeal to them in your messaging. Good luck. If you need me, I am here to help.
